How To: Games

Looking to kill some time? Google+ has a games section and it's ready when you're ready to play...

Getting There

Navigating to +Google+ Games is simple, just look for the Games icon in the navigation ribbon to the left (desktop) and select "Games". If it isn't there, it'll be most likely hiding under "More".

Playing Games

Use the toggles at the top of the games landing page and select 'Directory' where you'll be able to browse all the games Google+ has to offer. When you find one you fancy, hover over it and click the big blue 'Play' button.

You'll then be prompted with the message below if it is your first time playing the game. If you want to play the game, press the continue button.
After this you will be presented with a list of permission the specific game is requesting. To play the game you'll need to accept these. After this, you can enjoy playing the game and all the benefits that come from Google+ games such as competing with the people in your circles.

Notifications

You can visit the 'Notifications' toggle in the games section of Google+ to show your game notifications. This includes invites to other games from your friends and other in-game items.
Game requests
By default, these notifications will also show in your general Google+ notifications. Unless you're going to be playing games on Google+ a lot, this can get annoying, fast. Thankfully, there is a way to stop these notifications from appearing. Here's how:

In the top-right of the games page, click the cog icon and select 'Settings' from the drop down menu. Scroll through the settings until you reach 'Google+ games'. Uncheck the check box for 'Show Google+ games notifications in the Google bar.' and these notifications will stop appearing.
