We launched on January 10th, 2013, but it's still hard to believe that Google Plus Daily is now a month old. We are surprised about the success we've had in such a short amount of time, but we are even more excited to see what happens from here.
Thank You!
Thank you all for being such awesome readers. You have made our transition from #googleplusupdate, purely a Google+ page posting only Google+ updates, into +Google Plus Daily, a full-blown Google+ news website, very successful. When we announced the change on January 10th, 2013 with a Google+ Hangout on Air, we were afraid how you all would take it, but we've been pleasantly surprised.
Our Articles
In our first month, we've had over 20,000 visits to googleplusdaily.com from over 13,000 unique visitors. We've written and shared 52 articles for you including 18 features, 25 updates, and 14 how-to's. Some of our articles have been hits like Google+, the Future of Job Search?, Redesign to Come Sooner Than We Think? and Reason #1 to Make the Switch: Google+ for Android. When we posted the latter to Google+, it was as high as #4 on "What's Hot!"
Make The Switch
Make The Switch Initiative |
Just last week, we called on you for our first initiative, Make The Switch, to help Facebook users find out how great Google+ is and to ease the transition with how-to guides, and you made it a resounding success! So far, Make The Switch has been a hit with our announcement post on Google+ reaching "What's Hot" and the #MakeTheSwitch hashtag making the "Trending on Google+" list. We've also had over 7,000 visits to maketheswitch.me from over 6,500 visitors. The best part is that over 1,500 of those visits are from Facebook! We also had 260 members join the Make The Switch community to ask questions and discuss why they made the switch.
Broadening Our Reach
Not only are the numbers on our website and for the Make The Switch initiative up, but they are also up on all of our social media networks. Since our first announcement of the change, we've added over 1,800 followers to our Google+ page and over 6,500 to our Google+ Updates community. In order to reach a broader audience, we've also launched a YouTube Channel (13 subscribers), Facebook Page (33 likes), Twitter account (39 followers) with some success. In addition, to make it easier for our readers that like to stay up-to-date on the go, we can now be found on Google Currents where we already have 273 subscribers.
The Future
Believe us when we say, this is only the beginning. So, that's one month down with many more left. We have more that we are planning to do in order to make our coverage of Google+ even better and to connect with you, our readers. If you ever have any feedback for us, please feel to leave it in the comments below, contact us on Google+, or email us at contact@googleplusdaily.com.
