Google+'s Events feature is yet another area where Google+ stands out from other social media networks. With added capabilities that you just can't find anywhere else, it's one of the best features of Google+.

Getting There

To start with Google+ Events, simply click on the Google+ Events logo on the navigation ribbon going down the left-hand side of Google+. You'll be directed to a page very similar to the one below with a list of upcoming events to which you've been invited (item 1), a button to "create event" (item 2), a link to "plan your next hangout" (item 3), a link to "find more events" (item 4), and a link to "view your [Google] calendar" (item 5).

Creating an Event
After clicking the "create event" button at the top of the Events page, a pop-up will appear for you to fill in the details of your event. The first thing you'll want to do is set the theme for your event by using either a stock theme image provide by Google+ or by uploading one of your own like is shown in the video below.
Next you'll want to fill out all the details of the event including the name, date, time, location (if necessary) and the description of the event. After the event information, simply choose the circles or people you want to invite. You can even invite others by their email address. Check out how it's done in the video below.

Responding to Events
When someone shares an event with you or sends you a personal invite, there will be a question asking, "Are you going?" There are three options: "yes," "maybe," and "no." If you choose "no," you will not receive any reminders about the event or notifications about information on the event changing. If you choose "yes," "maybe" or you don't respond at all, you will receive notifications of important information changing and reminders about the event. Also, if you choose "yes," you will have an option to select a number of guests you will be bringing.

On the Google+ App
Creating an Event
You can also easily create an event from the mobile application. The process is just about the same as it is for creating an event on the desktop version. It's really just moved around to fit a smaller screen.
Creating a Google+ Event on the Go |
Responding to Events
Responding to Google+ Events through the mobile app also works pretty much the same way. You tap the event and you're brought to the Event page to get more information and choose if you want to attend.

Taking Pictures with Party Mode
Now, the real fun starts when the event begins. You'll be prompted to turn on Party Mode. When turned on, Party Mode will instantly share the pictures you take during the event on to the Google+ Events page. If you leave the event early or don't want to share your pictures automatically anymore, simply visit the event page again and you can turn it off with one tap. Check out how it works in the video below.
After the Event
After the event, all of the pictures everyone shared with Party Mode or uploaded later are still there, all in one place, for you to flip through, download, or present. You'll also be able to see who took the pictures and sort by photographer or person in the picture if there's a specific person who's pictures you want to see. Check out how it works below.
