Communications Manager role adds more control over your Google+ Pages

A lot of complaints were flying around recently that Google+ Pages needed more control over posts. It turns out, I completely made that up just now. However, if you were complaining about that, you're in luck: there's a shiny new manager role to use!

Google has been steadily rolling out new improvements to Pages recently, and they're not letting up yet. The newest role, Communications Manager, now allows for even more control over your page while giving more freedom to members to focus on Page outreach.
The Google+ team made it easy to start assigning your Communications Managers. Simply go to the Google+ Pages Dashboard and select Managers. From there, use the drop-down to select who you want to have the upgraded privileges. These include:
  • Posting to followers
  • Replying to followers
  • Use features such as Communities and Events
The list of powers Communications Managers don't wield include editing the Page, its Managers, or any connected YouTube channel. That means you can now allow someone to post to on your Google+ page without fearing that they have too much control to accidentally (or purposely) change something you don't want them to change.

The update for Communications Managers has already rolled out, so what are you waiting for? Go forth and start doling out the fresh positions of power!
