Version 4.6 of Google+ app for iOS brings location sharing, full-size backups, & more

The Google+ app for iOS has updated to version 4.6.0, and it is bringing host of updates for iPhone and iPad users.

Following an update to the Android app for Google+ recently, the Google+ team is letting iOS users they haven't forgotten about them by adding some updates the Android app users are already using plus a few extras.

To bring the iOS app up to speed with it's Android counterpart, the Google+ team has given iOS users the updated notification tray as well as location sharing. Users can now share their location with any other user that they wish including circle-level controls. In addition to controlling who their location, they can also control who is shown on the map inside the app.

After waiting a while for a feature Android users have been enjoying for months, photographers will also be happy to know that photos and videos now have the ability to be uploaded in full resolution; however, that is only for users running iOS7.

This last August, Google Translate was integrated with Google+ to add inline post and comment translation. Now, that same technology has made it's way to the Google+ app for iOS.

Finally, the search function in the app has been updated to integrate all of the search functions into a single search box for posts, people, photos and communities. This update should make the app easier to navigate.
