New landing page urges users turn on notifications for Google+ circles

Don’t be alarmed if you’re redirected the next time you try logging on to Google+; it seems as if Google is sending a portion of users to a one-time landing page reminding users how to set up notifications for their circles.

The page features a list of all your circles, with nice big “Get notifications” buttons beneath each one. The heading reads "Never miss another post" and the subheading clarifies with: "Get notifications whenever important people in your life share something new on Google+."

When switched on, circle notifications will be delivered to you every time someone in a particular circle shares a post with you. This is useful if you don’t want to miss a single post from your favorite people or pages, or if you want to see content the moment it’s shared (please don’t leave “first!!1” in the comments, though).
Turning circle notifications on is dead simple on this landing page.
If you’ve already set notifications up, no worries! You don’t have to adjust anything to continue to the Google+ homepage, and you won’t see the page again unless you navigate there yourself.

Previously, the only way to turn on circle notifications was from each circle's stream; this landing page is the first convenient place to adjust notifications for all of your circles at once.

Google most likely introduced this landing page because they felt not enough people were using circle notifications. Getting users (especially those who don’t check Google+ constantly like me) to turn them on will most likely boost engagement and convince others that this alleged ghost town is haunted by a lively bunch of spirits.
