Google+ Local allows you to discover and share places that are nearby, as well as showing you places friends have recommended. Google+ Local is perfect for finding something to do at the weekend, or for finding the perfect restaurant for a romantic meal.
Navigating Google+ Local

To start using Google+ Local, simply click on the Google+ Local logo on the navigation ribbon going down the left side of Google+. You'll then be presented with the main Google+ Local screen with a list of places to review and places to visit. You can click on any of these places to learn more about them and read reviews posted by Google+ users.

Another thing you will notice when you visit the Google+ Local page is that the search bar at the top of Google+ has split into two. The first bar is for searching for places on Google+ Local, whilst the second is for setting your current location so that Google+ Local can show places that are local to you.
Sometimes, Google+ Local may not correctly estimate your location. To permanently change your current location, click the small pin item to the right of the second bar and enter your location into the pop-up that displays.

By Mobile
You can quickly access Google+ Local via the Google+ app by clicking the Local link in the pull out menu. This actually links you to the Google Maps app which contains Google+ Local.

You will then be presented with the Google+ Local screen which again will give you a list of places to review and visit. You can also easily search for specific types of places using the buttons at the top of the screen.

Writing High Quality Reviews
Writing a high-quality review helps others make the right choice when deciding on whether to go to that place or not. It may only take a few more minutes of your time to provide more details in a review.
Uploading Photos to Google+ Local
If there isn't a photo, or a good quality photo of a business on Local; you can always add your own using Local on the desktop, as well as on your mobile device.
Desktop
Click on a business that you'd like to upload a photo of, click on the photos tab and then select the blue "Upload public photo" button just beneath the page's cover photo.
Mobile
Just search for and select the business, and then tap the camera icon at the top. Alternatively, tap the "Photos" tab on the place's page and then tap "Upload public photo".
