The group has already nabbed their short and sweet URL - plus.google.com/+U2 and has already uploaded their profile and cover photos, along with a few posts to interviews in which they talk about a much-anticipated new album that is in the works.
Senior Vice President of Engineering at Google, +Vic Gundotra officially welcomed them to the service, along with the music video for "Sweetest Thing".
Just hours after the verification of U2's Google+ Page, a few thousand fans have already added them to their circles, with plusses for the page currently clocking at over 3000. Expect these figures to rise sharply as news of the band's joining spreads across the wider community.
