Users of the mobile web version of Google+ will be happy to hear that the new link post layout has rolled out to them too. Unfortunately, it hasn't rolled out to all posts yet.
Last week, link posts on the desktop version of Google+ received an updated look with larger images and titles. The new layout has also made it's way to the mobile web version of Google+ (sort of). The update has not yet rolled out to all posts.
First, the update was not made retroactively to posts shared before February 18th. In addition, some posts that have the new look on desktop, don't have it on the mobile web version.
This inconsistency between mobile and desktop joins other inconsistencies that have accompanied the update since it's launch a week ago. Even on desktop, some posts have descriptions included in the layout while others do not. Although the update has been reverted to be fixed before, there appears to be more work to be done with this new user interface.
The fact that not all posts are receiving the larger image and title treatment on the mobile web version of Google+ signals that the Google+ team hasn't quite figured it all out yet. It could possibly mean we still have a while to wait for the update to show up on the Android and iOS apps. Hopefully, instead the Google+ development team is going to update the apps and the mobile web at the same time and do it quickly!
