Google+ for Android Updated to 6.1

The Google+ Android app has been updated from 6.0 to 6.1, and just like the last few releases, there's not much to see...

6.0 was released a couple of weeks back, and we didn't even bother to write about it because I could explain everything new in one sentence - "Probably just bug fixes and performance enhancements".

Today's update to 6.1 isn't much different, apart from one tiny change that has also rolled out to Google+ on the web. Search used to say "Search for people, pages and posts", now it just says "Search Google+".

Excuse my negativity but does this really warrant such a jump in version numbering? That said, the file size has reduced in size by a fair margin, which I assume is the removal of more redundant Google+ Photos bits.

As usual, it's another disappointing Google+ app update. Let's hope Google is making changes to the backend to get ready for an upcoming server side update or something...

As usual, you can go ahead and grab the update from +APK Mirror (download button below) or wait a few days until it rolls out to you on Google Play.
