Drive Further Integrates Google+, Adds G+ Profile Pictures, Hovercards and More

Google Drive added some enhancements earlier today, with further integration with Google+ as well as one-click chat and anonymous animal profile pictures.

The cluster of improvements announced today are a result of work focusing on "bringing people together in Drive". Collaboration is easier now that you can see the people who are viewing or editing at the top of the document.

Anonymous viewers will have profile pictures, but not the standard "blue head" that you see often on Google+, but animals, from monkeys to narwhals. Yep, they're quite cute. People who aren't anonymous and have upgraded to Google+ will get the added benefit of hovercards, where you can see brief information about the contact and the option is there to add or change the circle that person is in.

Aside from the Google+ additions, the +Google Drive  team have added a new chat button which activates a group chat, making it super-quick and easy to message everyone in the file or document.

The improvements are rolling out over the next day or two, with support for more file types coming soon, according to the official Drive blog.

What's your favourite anonymous animal?
