Google+ Sign-In seeing positive numbers in case studies from Google


Google+ Sign-InGoogle+ Sign-In was officially announced earlier this year in February. Today, Google has announced some usage numbers, and they definitely look good.

Google+ Sign-In allow users to bring their two-step verification they've come to know and love with them to all websites. A few other key features include Over-the-Air Installs directly from a developer's website and easy sharing to Google+ including interactive posts. These are also the features that were discussed on today's post on the Google+ Developers Blog.

In addition to restating that 40% of Android users install a website's mobile app when offered (which was officially announced the day before Google I/O), some "shining star" type numbers were released as well. Fitbit was found to have an astonishing 60% acceptance rate when using over-the-air installs.

Google+ Sign-In is becoming the preferred mode of signing in for many apps. It was found that JoliCloud's most popular sign-in option on the web is Google+ Sign-In, with 48% of users choosing it.  This trend continues when you look at Songza where Google+ Sign-In is the most popular option on Android, taking 40% of all users.

With 35% of the users Google+ Sign-In is the 2nd most popular mode of signing in for Flixster users on the web, 2nd only to using an email address. On Android the numbers move even higher in favor of Google+ Sign-In where it is the number one choice with 45% of the users. It appears that Flixster's management is taking note as well:

The most interesting numbers are that of Google+ Sign-In's impact on new user growth. After implementing the ability to sign in using Google+, Snapette's new user registrations has increased by 16%. In addition, one of the most popular social media networks in Japan, pixiv, has seen an new user registrations surge by 21%. They have also had a decrease of their bounce rate by 25% for pixiv's new user registration page after integrating Google+ Sign-In.
