Google Translate integrates with Google+ posts & comments

Google+’s global community just got a little more connected, as posts and comments in other languages can be translated with just a click.
Google Translate Now Works on Google+ Posts and Comments
Text translated from Spanish to English.
Google+ users rejoice! A frequently-requested feature, easy translation of Google+ posts and comments, was announced today by Googler +Ed Chi. The feature will be rolling out gradually on Google+ for desktop. No word yet on if or when this will hit the mobile app.

Once available, a small “Translate” button will appear underneath text in foreign languages. The languages that will be marked as needing to be translated and the language it translates to is based on your Google account settings.  If you need to, you can view or adjust your language preferences in your Google account settings.

This feature will surely come in handy to many users due to Google+’s diversity. According to data collected by +GPlusData, a good 68.5 percent of its almost 18 million tracked users live outside of the U.S.; of a smaller 228,000 sample size, 46 percent use a language other than English. This feature should bridge the language barrier which divides the social network’s community roughly in half. It should increase engagement across Google+ for all users, including speaking all languages.

Do you interact with posts, users, and pages from other regions and who speak different languages? Share your experiences and feature suggestions in the comments section.
