Flipboard adds Sign-In functionality, enabling one-tap login for Google+ users

Good news Flipboard users on Android: You can now log in with Google, thanks to the latest version of the news-reading app.

+Flipboard is just one of a rapidly growing number of apps to incorporate Google's Google+ Sign-In API which allows users to sign-up or log in to services with a tap of a (red) button, reducing the burden of entering a mass of details all whilst keeping your account secure.

The latest version of 'Your personal magazine' adds the simple sign-in functionality as well as addressing a small number of bugs and the addition of some performance enhancements. It isn't yet known whether the iOS version of the app will receive the same treatment in regards to Google+ Sign-In, so it's just a matter of waiting and seeing for now.

It isn't the first time Google+ has made its way into the app, with Flipboard announcing integration way back in summer 2012, enabling its users to access people & pages, posts and sharing functionality without having to leave the app. Today's announcement sees the next major step, where access to the functionality is just a tap away.

Users now have several choices when logging in, from Facebook and now Google, to the old and traditional way of signing up via email.

Flipboard is certainly leading the pack as far as social integration is concerned, making full use of APIs from the various social networking services and with the further added Google+ functionality, it is another step ahead of the game.
