Minor visual changes to Hangouts on the web

Some minor changes to timestamps are rolling out to Hangouts on the web.

Previously, timestamps on Hangouts were displayed within a message. The latest change to Hangouts on the web brings them outside for a more streamlined look to messages, and is following the trend that the most recent version of the Google+ Android app has started.

This change provides a great visual improvement to conversations using Hangouts on the web (and Chrome extension), but we are yet to see if it carries across to the mobile versions of Hangouts.

Speaking of mobile, with Google's basic SMS messaging alternative 'Messenger' recently receiving a great new quick reply feature allowing you to reply to messages without having to stop what you are doing, many are wondering if the same feature will be added to Hangouts soon.

Perhaps when this change to Hangouts on the web is reflected in the Android application it will also bring along the new quick reply feature. But all we can do is speculate for now...

Although minor, could this change to Hangouts be a hint of more to come?
