Google has a new app in the iTunes app store for verifying and updating your Places/Google+ Local listing on the go.
Google Places For Business does what it says on the tin: "
Google Places for Business is the best way to get your business on Google and be found across Google Search, Maps, Mobile, and Google+".
The app, first reported on by
iClarified can be used on your iPhone or iPod Touch with the following features as listed by Google:
- Verify your business listing directly from your phone
- Update your business information: hours, address, contact information, and description
- Post beautiful pictures of your business on your local Google+ page
- Track web traffic going to your listing
- Manage multiple business locations from one app
Apple approved the app yesterday, and we have still yet to hear an official announcement from Google. It also appears that users aren't currently able to download and install the management tool, as it is throwing up errors, stating that the app is no longer available, yet it is still listed in the store. In the mean time though, check out the screenshots:

It's clear that Google are working hard to tempt and persuade more business owners to add or verify and manage listings on Local, but how many will install and use this new iPhone app is anyone's guess for now.
If you manage to get it up and running on your device, feel free let us know about your experience with the app.
